Well, it's been mentioned that Lex deserves a little pimpin' up, so I raced through my randomly snagged pictures folder and found some of Lex of which I'm rather fond. This is relatively short and quaint, so maybe I'll do something longer later. Enjoy :) Oh, and sorry to the world for the lack of lj cut here. Thing hates me, and I'll fiddle with it later.
(Just for credit. I've picked these pics up from different sources, but I'm pretty sure a majority came from screencap-paradise.com, just to let people know and to be fair etc)
( This Way to the Fabulous Pictures! )Okay, here's a random shot. Poor Martha looking so worn out in the back. This picture just calls to me for some reason. Maybe it's the rich purple of the shirt against the black jacket, which is a favorite combination of mine. Maybe it's just because I love watching Martha and Lex interact. :)
I still think Tempest was a pretty good episode. I really liked watching Lex going from helpless to planning, in control, and prepared, as he should be. The blue shirt is really nice too. ;)
Pics at the Luthor Mansion/Manor/Castle/Retreat? are always some of my favorites. I love the way the lighting falls, and as a backdrop, it can be stellar. I just liike the sort of ease of this shot. Just Lex talking to his best friend...who, you know, is hyped up on Kryptonite crack, but whatever. ;)
I just really like the warm, dream-like feeling of the lighting here.
Enter this picture just for sheer nostalgia. I think the scene goes...Lex is about to get axed, but he managed to get one foot loose and kick before completely falling over and knocking himself out? Something like that? I remember just clapping in the sheer awesomeness of, "Yes, Lex! Save yourself!" to "Oh, come on!"
Plus, seeing shots of Lex vulnerable always touch me, especially since he's such a...concealing character, I suppose? Also because he's such a strong character, it just kind of stings.
(And is that duct tape...purple?)
Remember how I gushed earlier about the backdrops at the Luthor Hideaway? I love all of these shots. Lex leaning above the banister is just great, and I wish I knew what all those books on his shelves are. Also, I love the contrasts in the other pictures of the red and pinks in the windows to Lex's shirt, as well as his fabulous expressions in these pictures. I think they are some of my favorite pictures, overall.
Okay, I haven't even gotten to see this episode yet. But I just love this picture. Ignoring the actual plot of the episode that I know (Zod taking over Lex's body etc), just the shot feels so striking and symbolic. Lex, fallen, with a kryptonian symbol burned into his hand. Damn.
Haven't gotten to see this episode either, but the history geek in me loves this shot. Yay!
I'm a big fan of when black and white is done well. Sometimes it can just look cheap, and other times it can come across as really classy. These pics show one of those better times, and Lex just looks so fabulously fun and different here. :)
